Baboon | Outcast
Apart from humans the Chacma Baboon is one of the largest primates. Adult males can weight up tp 40kg (88lbs) the females being half the size. Baboons have a versatile diet and a highly sophisticated social structure. They feed on fruit, seed pods, eggs and small invertebrates but have been known to kill newborn antelopes. Baboon forage all day on the ground in groups of up to 100 individuals and will retire to the tree tops or cliffs come night fall. Older males hold the highest authority within the group defending the troops from enemies and directing their movements. They can also adapt to various types of habitat as long as there is food and water.
