Bear Kodiak
The Kodiak bear (Ursus arctos middendorffi), also known as the Alaskan brown bear, is a large subspecies of Brown Bear that occupies the islands of the Kodiak Archipelago in southcentral Alaska. The traditional name in the Alutiiq language is: Taquka-aq. Male bears are referred to as boars, while females are called sows.
